Community & Economic Development
MAG administers the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Programs for Lehi City, Utah County and the State Small Cities program benefiting Summit and Wasatch Counties. CDBG is sponsored by the US Department of Housing and Urban Development with the primary objective of developing viable communities through the provision of decent housing, suitable living environments and expanding economic opportunities for persons of low and moderate income.
The Mountainland Economic Development District (MEDD) is a designated district by the Economic Development Administration (EDA). The MEDD supports regional economic competitiveness, investments and collaboration. The MEDD administers a Small Business Revolving Loan Fund (RLF) that provides gap and start-up funding to businesses that are unable to obtain traditional business financing.
Planning for Growth
MAG is the regional transportation planning group for urban Utah County organized as a Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO) for Utah County, and a Rural Planning Organization (RPO) for Wasatch County. An MPO/RPO is formed to allow all transportation related decision makers a voice in the process to plan and fund regional transportation projects.
Our work in Summit, Wasatch and Utah Counties includes long and short-range:
- Transportation Planning and Funding
- Land-Use Planning
- Mapping, GIS, Website Development
- Trail Planning
- Air Quality Planning
