AOG Departments

Mountainland Association of Governments (MAG) serves the communities in Utah, Wasatch and Summit counties. The association was organized in 1972 through an Interlocal Cooperation Agreement as an area agency designation to provide services. Today there is over 600,000 people in the three-county area with a projected 2040 population over 1.1 million.

Responsibilities of the association include administration of the following:

  • Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO) for Utah County

  • Area Agency on Aging for the three-county region

  • Community & Economic Development for the three-county region

  • Rural Planning Organization (RPO) in Wasatch County
