The Transportation Improvement Program or TIP is a four-year program listing funded regional transportation projects within the Provo/Orem urban area. To fund projects, the Utah Department of Transportation (UDOT) and the Utah Transit Authority (UTA) have separate selection processes. Mountainland Association of Governments as the MPO programs about $45m a year to transportation projects. Municipalities, Utah County, UDOT, UTA, and others are eligible for MPO funds. All regional projects, regardless of the selection agency, must be approved by the MPO committees and be listed in the TIP.
